We first met Tom at a seminar on the 23rd January and felt it would be great to have further advice from someone with a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field of Business Centres and self-storage. We got in touch straight away and Tom was able to work on our report remotely, obtaining information from all relevant sources and built an accurate picture of how we were performing as a group before his visit to us, which not only saved time but allowed Tom to visit each site and look at them in detail. In reality we could of video called Tom at each site to avoid a trip altogether but it was right for us to have a couple of days walking round and discussing plans for our third venture in Ebbsfleet. We engaged Tom to firstly provide us with an analysis of the business centre at Gateway House, to show ways to improve the yield from the centre, with the idea that we eventually would need his assistance to sell it.

Tom’s extensive experience within the serviced office market and industry gave us the confidence to know his conclusions and suggestions would greatly help us achieve our desired result.

The advice he provided us with, as to the correct approach to selling our business centre proved invaluable. We employed Tom to help us let or sell the offices we purchased at Enterprise Court in Manvers, Rotherham. It was a particularly difficult time at the height of the recession. A marketing campaign under the name of ‘The Right Space’ was set up to promote the property but the real success was the establishment of a business incubation centre under the name of ‘The Freespace Foundation’ a charity where Tom is a Trustee. This offered office space free of charge for one year to start up businesses or home based businesses taking space for the first time. Tom worked closely with both the Chamber of Commerce and Rotherham Council on this and assisted over 30 businesses during its time at Enterprise Court. The incubation centre brought life to the centre and now all vacant space has been let on three-year leases six of which were start up companies from the incubation centre.

Tom has been instrumental in all of this and his hard work and dedication has resulted in a successful outcome.
